November 27, Antonella will introduce to some friends the exhibition Yves Klein + Lucio Fontana, curated by Silvia Bignami and Giorgio Zanchetti. “The parallel paths of Yves Klein (1928-1962) and Lucio Fontana (1899-1968), focusing on the years between 1957 and 1962, between Milan and Paris are described with over 90 works and extensive documentation including photos, period film clips and archive records. …In January 1957, Yves Klein held his first one-man exhibition of blue monochromes at the Apollinaire Gallery in Milan; on that occasion, Lucio Fontana was among the first to buy a monochrome by the French artist, and in the early 1960s he became one of his most important collectors in Italy. Among the significant episodes in their relationship, the exhibition documents Klein’s contacts with gallerists and friends of Fontana and Fontana’s invitation to Klein for the unrealised “air architecture” project to be presented at the 12th Milan Triennale in 1960” as it is written in the press release of the exhibition.
